Born in Louisiana, Jones spent his life as a laborer. Only five feet tall, he acquired the nickname 50 Cents. His lively paintings capture the spirit of rural farm life. Jones’ work is in the National Museum of American Art in the Smithsonian and the Louisiana State Museum.
