Dial has become one of the most famous self taught American artists. His gutsy and joyful work displays layers of references from slavery to rural life. Dial’s work is now in many collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of Art and The Milwaukee Art Museum.
