Burnside creates highly symbolic paintings to seek relief from visions he describes as from ‘ancient times.’ In this piece, dots recall aboriginal art, and pine cones add an earthy texture to an otherwise modern, graphic work.

Burnside’s work has been exhibited at The Smithsonian, The High Museum of Art, and The Fine Arts Museum of the South.
