Wood, 11.5" x 5", American, 20th century. The 76 foot tall real Golden Driller was originally built, and temporarily displayed for the 1953 International Petroleum Exposition then permanently constructed in 1966 for the same event as a tribute to the men of the petroleum industry. He was designed by George S. "Grecco" Hondronastas (1893-1979).
